Technology Protects Old Villages – VeeSafety’s Langxin Old Village Smart Smoke Detection Project Was Successfully Completed.

Shenzhen Shiyan Langxin Old Village recently completed a landmark livelihood project – VeeSafety deployed more than 300 sets of intelligent 4G smoke detectors to build a 24/7 fire prevention and control system for this century-old village. This move marks that the protection of traditional villages has entered a new stage of “IoT perception + cloud response” in intelligence.

Renewal of old villages: solving the problem from the pain points of wooden structures

The existing buildings in Langxin Old Village are mainly brick-wood hybrid structures. Problems such as narrow alleys and aging lines have long plagued fire safety. VeeSafety uses smart IoT technology to create a visual integrated fire protection solution, directly connecting smoke detection equipment to the community emergency platform to achieve a rapid response mechanism of “5-second identification of abnormal smoke and instant push of alarm information”. During the installation process, the VeeSafety technical team customized installation solutions for special spaces such as sloping roofs and attics to ensure that there are no blind spots in monitoring.

Technology empowerment: three-level joint defense and protection‌

The system innovatively builds a three-level early warning network of “residents-village committee-fire station”:

The 4G smoke detector is equipped with a built-in photoelectric smoke sensor, which can penetrate the common dust interference in traditional buildings. Once smoke is detected, the device emits a buzzing alarm and simultaneously pushes information to multiple emergency contacts. The community monitoring center implements 24-hour dual person duty and establishes a dedicated channel with the fire station in the jurisdiction.

During the trial operation, the fire protection system successfully warned of three dangerous situations in which people forgot to turn off the fire in the kitchen, providing substantial safety protection for elderly people living alone. 73-year-old villager Li Bo said with emotion: “I used to worry about fires in the old house at night, but now I feel relieved when I hear the ‘beep’ sound and can receive alarm information on my mobile phone.”

Innovation: explore new models for the protection of ancient buildings

The smart smoke sensing project of Langxin Old Village adopts the “government-enterprise collaboration” model. The subdistrict office provides basic data, and VeeSafety is responsible for equipment development and operation and maintenance with the “urban fire remote integrated monitoring system” as the core, providing auxiliary decision-making support for fire management at all levels, and continuously improving the scientific and intelligent level of fire fighting and rescue. This case provides a replicable solution for the intelligent transformation of traditional villages in the Bay Area.
